Elements Classes

For many people, getting started with CrossFit can be a bit intimidating. There's new terminology, new movements, new workout styles, and new people all at the same time.
These are all real concerns! To make sure you're comfortable with all of these new things, we host our Elements Classes every month!
These classes run Monday - Thursday on the first full week of the month from 7:30-8:30 pm and cost $35. We take time in these small-group settings to go over the movements, workout structures, techniques, and safety principles to make your fitness journey as effective as it is fun!
Most of the time, this is a one-time class because of how much time we take in everyday classes to go over technique and form. But if you're experienced in fitness and want a more concentrated learning experience, the Elements Classes are a perfect brush-up class!
Elements FAQs:
Q: Do I have to do Elements before starting at NACF?
A: Nope! If you're in doubt about whether or not to do it, we'd recommend you go through it. But if you're a recent college athlete, coming from another CrossFit gym, or starting from something else that performs similar movements, you can jump into classes without it. The great thing is, we run Elements once a month every month. So you can start in classes normally, then if you (or the coaches) notice or feel like you're in over your skis, you can sign up to take our next Elements Classes.
Q: If I want to do Elements but it's, say, two weeks from the next Elements Class, can I still start in classes/is it safe to start?
A: Absolutely! If you sign up between Elements sessions, you're still perfectly safe to join classes. Our coaches will get a notice that a new athlete (yes, you, you're an athlete!) has started and will be joining their class. That coach is already prepared to adjust the high skill/technique/difficulty movements so they're understandable and safe for a beginner. As you feel comfortable, we can add difficulty and complexity before starting Elements.
Q: What if I can't make the class times of M-Th at 7:30-8:30 pm?
A: If you're not able to make it to the classes but would like Elements work, you can schedule personal training sessions, which would be $45/hr. The length of time of the course work is four hours, but with one person, sometimes it can take a little less time. For specific exceptions (nurses who work 7-7, night shift workers, etc.), we can price the personal training sessions as though it is a normal Elements Class (i.e. a one-time charge of $35).
